Lately I've been dying for either Casa Mia's or Cafe Hon's salad dressings with every salad I've eaten, so I figured I would take a stab at making a dill dressing of my own. This isn't exactly there (it still needs something with a little bite, so I'll add some plain yogurt next time), but I wanted to make sure I had a starting place recorded for next time. This was pretty good as it stands though.
Dill Dressing
3/4 cup mayonnaise
2 1/2 tblsp lime juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/3 cup chopped dill
1 tblsp sugar (could have definitely used less)
Combine ingredients and mix thoroughly. Let sit in fridge for at least an hour before serving.

My stepmother makes a great dill dressing. Didn't mention it before because I thought you didn't like dill that much...
She uses sour cream, fresh garlic, dill, salt, sugar, pepper to taste, olive oil... I think that's it... I've made it a couple of times. It's delicious.
Oddly, I don't like dill that much, but for some reason dill dressing really does it for me! Thanks for the recipe. I'll give it a whirl!
oh, I forgot: add rice vinegar!
Rice vinegar and sugar? Is it really sweet?
Well, just be sparing with the sugar. But my stepmother IS German. One of my German friends likes to pour sugar on her lettuce. Just be careful with how much you put in. It's not really sweet the way she does it. Usually she puts too much garlic in, so it really bites you back.
Sugar on the lettuce. Blah!
